League/ Faclity Rules & Misconduct

Players Equipment

Jersey:

  • The player's Jersey shall consist of a regular uniform with a number on the shirt that corresponds to his/her number on the Game SheetPlayers must wear the same number each game. It is mandatory for all players on the team to have the same shirts with different numbers.  The goalkeeper must wear a numbered shirt with colours that distinguish him/her from the other players on both teams. The number shall be of contrasting colour to the shirt
  •  If in the event that teams have the same colour shirt, the home team must change.

Footwear:

  • INDOOR:  Footwear shall be indoor soccer shoes (flat soles or turf shoes) or running shoes. No outdoor cleats.  Shin guards are mandatory.

 

Registration of Team/Players:

  • ALL  Players must be registered with the Team in the registration system before he or she is allowed to play in a League Game.  All team players are required to register online before they will be eligible to play. A team playing unregistered players will result in disciplinary action from the league and will forfeit the game in which the unregistered players were played.  Players must register to the Team online at 9v9soccer.com or bramptonfairgroundssoccer.com
  • ALL players must have PHOTO ID available at the game and must produce it immediately if asked by the referee.  (we suggest the captain obtain a photo copy of each team members photo ID and keep it with him at each game)
  •  A player may only play on ONE (1) Team within the division.

 

AGE REQUIREMENTS:   Players must been turing 18 years old by the end of the season

  • Fall Session by Decebmer 31
  • Winter Session by March 31
  • Summer Session by July 31

 

Adding of Players through Season & Playoff eligibility:

  • No new players will be allowed to register after the team has played 6 games. NO EXCEPTIONS
  • A player must have played in at least two regular season games to be eligible for the play offs.

 

Number of Players

  • A match shall be played by two teams, each fielding 9 players (8 and a goalie)
  • The minimum number players for a game to proceed, is 7 including the goalie.

 

Substitutions:

  • Substitutes are made at  center field with permission from the referee.  Substitutions may be made at any stoppage of play or on the fly so long as the referee has signaled the changed and it has taken place at centre field.  When any player other than the goalkeeper is to be replaced, the substitute shall not enter the field of play until the player being replaced is within 1 metre of the bench area at center field.  The game shall not be delayed to allow substitution, except for the substitution of the goalkeeper or an injured player.  Unlimited substitution shall be allowed.. Neither the player entering nor the player leaving may interfere with the play while on the field. Any abuse of this rule could result in a two-minute penalty.
  • Any of the other players may change places with the goalkeeper, provided that the referee is informed before the change is made, and provided, that the change is made during a stoppage of the game.

·       After Half Time no late players can join the game.

 

Start of Play

  • The game shall commence from the centre circle and the ball can be played in any direction.
  • The Ball will be thrown in when the ball crosses the sideline.
  • When a goal is scored the game may not restart until both teams have reached their respective end. Any attempt to delay this process or excessive celebration could result in a two-minute penalty.

The Game

  • Games must start and finish on time and teams must be ready to play at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled kick off time
  • A minimum of seven players is required to start a game. If a team cannot provide the minimum number within 10 minutes of the scheduled kick off time, they will forfeit the game by a score of 1-0.

INDOOR PLAY TIME

  • The game will consist of two 25-minute halves. Games starting late due to any delays will have the time reduced. At half time the interval shall not exceed three (3) minutes, except by the consent of the Referee.

Slide Tackles:

  • There are no slide tackles or sliding.
  • Goalies may not slide feet first

Offsides:

  • There are NO offsides in the INDOOR game

Free Kicks

  • All free kicks are indirect, unless otherwise stated by the Referee.  The Referee may issue a direct kick dependant on the severity of the infraction.  This is totally at the Referees discretion and must be directed at the time of the free kick. Players who encroach within 2.5 meters or 8 feet of the kicker may be cautioned by the Referee.

Penalty Kicks

  • Penalty kicks during regular or overtime shall be taken from the penalty spot. The kick may be taken by anyone on the game sheet for that game.

 

Game/Player Protest

  •  Each team will be allowed three (3) Season protests only.
  • A team must protest the eligibility of an opposing player before the commencement of the game or before the start of the second half of the game in question. Player protests will not be taken at the end of a game.
  • The protest is made to the match Referee. You must point out which player(s) you wish to protest.  A limit of two player’s eligibility will be checked by the Referee during a game. This will only count as ONE season protest. The time it takes to check eligibility will be deleted from the play time.
  • Players in question will be asked to produce photo ID for verification.  All players must come to the field with photo ID on the sidelines in the form of a drivers license, health card, past port or other form of ID which contains the player’s picture and name.  We suggest that the captain take a photocopy of his players ID and keep it with him at each game in the case that a protest is made.
  • If Player ID cannot be produced in a timely manner immediately when asked, the player will not be allowed to continue and the team will forfiet the points
  • Any team found using ineligible players will forfeit that said match by a score of 1-0.

Game Sheets

Captains must print the GAME SHEETS provided in the system.

  • Log in and go to administer your team
  • Click ont he Schedule & Game Manager Icon
  • Scroll down and click on  View Schedule & Game Sheets
  • Click on the green  View Schedule ( you do not have to enter any division or team information at the top - Just click the green button)
  • Choose your game from the schedule and click on GAME SHEET to the right.  A PDF file will open -- you are required to only print your game sheet and bring it to the game.   
  • Each player on a team must be represented on the game sheet & jersey numbers must be assigned.  (jersey numbers can be written in beside the players name) Game sheets must be signed by all players participating beside their name on the sheet. The team captain/representative is responsible for printing the games sheet and providing it to the Referee at the start of each game.
  • Each player on the game sheet must be able to produce a photo ID at the time of the game.
  • The game sheet should be checked by each team captain at the end of the game and signed thereof confirming the correct scored have been applied.

DISCIPLINE

  • For a minor infraction - the player may serve a two-minute penalty at the Referee’s discretion. The player must serve the entire two minutes even if his/her team were to concede a goal.
  • Fighting & violent conduct will not be tolerated. 
  • REFEREE ABUSE, VERBAL OR OTHERWISE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED
  • Red Cards - All red cards will result in immediate expulsion from the game and a minimum of a one game suspension in addition to the game in which the player was ejected.  You will not be notified of the automatic one game suspension - it is up to the captains to enforce.  Player caught playing before their suspension is served will result in a forfeit and possible season suspension. 
  • Decisions will be made by the league disciplinary committee if further suspensions are necessary and in this case an emailed will be sent to the captain with the additional games of suspension. 
  • If you do not receive a subsequent email it is the captains responsibility to ensure that the suspended players serves his mandatory one game suspension.
  • If a player is given a red card, he/she shall leave the playing arena.  The Game will not continue until the player has done so.   The team will play the remainder of the game shorthanded
  • Players will have 48 hours after receiving a red card notice to request a review, in writing by email to the league.  Players must pay a $50.00 appeal fee at the time of filing the protest.
  •  If a goalkeeper receives a two-minute penalty, his time may be served by another player on the field. For a red card, he will be ejected from the game and must immediately leave the arena.

Spectators:

Each team is responsible for the behavior of their spectators. Spectators must remain away from the players benches at all times. Only Individuals indicated on the Game Sheet are allowed on the field/player bench areas.

  • A two-minute penalty may be given to the team whose spectators are disrupting the game.  The team will choose a player on the field to serve the penalty.
  • If the spectator problem persists the spectator(s) will be asked to leave by the referee and if refused the game will be called and the team in which the spectator belongs will forfeit the game.

 

Fouls and misconduct will be penalised as follows :  Please note that the Referee and the League has the authority to grant leniency at their discretion.

  • ALL Minor Infraction may be subject to a 2 minute Penalty and/or a Caution at Referees discretion.

Game Official (s)

Each match is controlled by a Referee who has full authority to enforce the Rules of Indoor Soccer

The authority and exercise of the powers granted to the Referee by these playing rules commence as soon as the Referee enters the field of play. The Referee's powers of penalizing shall extend to offences committed when the ball is in play, the ball is out of play, or play has been temporarily suspended or at the end of the game.

The Referee's decision on points of fact connected with the play shall be final, as far as the result of the game is concerned.  Please check the scores on the game sheet at the end of the game.

The Referee(s) shall:

  • Enforce these playing rules
  • Refrain from penalising in cases where by doing so, an advantage would be given to the offending team
  • Keep a record of the game;
  • Have the discretionary power to stop the game for any infringement of the playing rules and to suspend or terminate the game whenever, by reason of the elements, interference by spectators, or other cause, such stoppage is deemed necessary.
  • Caution and show a yellow card to any player guilty of misconduct or unsporting behaviour, may enforce 2 minute penalties where it is deemed necessary.
  • Allow no person other than the players to enter the field of play without giving permission
  • Stop the game when of the opinion that a player has been seriously injured; have the player removed as soon as possible from the field of play, and immediately resume the game. If a player is slightly injured, the game must not be stopped until the ball has ceased to be in play. A player who is able to leave the field of play for attention of any kind, shall not be treated on the field of play
  • Send off the field of play and show a red card to any player who is guilty of violent conduct, serious foul play, or the use of offensive, insulting, abusive language and/or gestures, or is guilty of a second caution
  • Signal for recommencement of the game after all stoppages
  • Decide that the ball provided for a match meets with the requirements of play
